Hi! I’m Kath.
I’m a writer, editor, and content strategist with 15 years of experience at premier publications in the health/wellness, pregnancy/parenting, and women’s lifestyle space.
I’m currently full-time freelance, and love working on carefully researched, service-driven health journalism that helps educate and inspire without unnecessarily stressing people out. Recently, my byline has appeared in the Washington Post’s Well+ Being vertical, Well+Good, SELF, What to Expect, BabyCenter, Peloton’s The Output blog, Better Homes & Gardens, Travel + Leisure, Livestrong, and others. I also support clients like Peloton, Consumer Reports, and What to Expect with project-based editing.
Background
I was previously the Executive Editor at What to Expect and BabyCenter (part of Everyday Health Group) in New York, two of the world’s best-known, most trusted pregnancy and parenting brands. In this position, I oversaw day-to-day editorial operations and content planning for both websites.
I’ve also held editor positions at Health.com (Meredith Corporation), during which time I contributed regularly to Shape.com; All You magazine (a former women’s lifestyle title published by Time Inc.); and TheBump.com (a pregnancy and parenting website from The Knot Worldwide), covering everything from beauty to food to fitness.
I’m originally from Connecticut and have a bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Writing, and Anthropology from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania and a Certificate in Publishing from New York University. I lived in New York City for 12 years and now live in Sydney, Australia with my husband and two sons.
I’m currently available for freelance writing and editing projects — get in touch here.
